Pin Cherries

I'd been looking forward to today for over a month.  That's when my refrigerator died.  I saved what I could in the small refrigerator in Mjolnir and called a repair man.  It took a week for him to come and then he verified the compressor went out and it would take at least 3 weeks to get a new one and get it installed.  I had figured that would be the case and decided to buy a new one (from a more reliable company).  Since I had planned this winter to also replace the washer/dryer and dishwasher, I ordered all of them at the same time.  The appliance store picked today - a month later - when they thought everything I'd ordered would be in and the techs could be scheduled.  The big truck w/ everything in it came today.  First problem, the dishwasher wasn't included.  The dishwasher is made in the U.S. but some parts come from other countries and tariffs struck.  The appliance store assured me as soon as they get it they will contact me. I checked on-line and there have been warnings of half year waits. Fortunately the dishwasher still works - more or less.  The next problem is when the installer pulled the hot water line from the wash machine to the feed.  It broke off at the wall.   (The wash machine has been here over 20 years.)  The installer couldn't get it pulled out and asked if I knew someone w/ a propane torch.  Called up Neighbor Doug.  Even though he was busy working on a tire, he and a friend came over and worked on the connection for an hour.  They got the corroded portion of the feed out but the feed itself was possibly damaged.  Decided I'd call a plumber to come in and replace it.   (If I can find a plumber.)  Doug's friend didn't want to leave until I could wash clothes though.  He hooked up the cold water feed, snaked the drain hose into the pipes and plugged in the machine.   As long as I don't mind washing in cold water, it works fine.  After everyone left I felt a bit down.  Sat on the couch.  Whip jumped up to lay her head on my lap.   Pretty sure every dog qualifies as an 'Emotional Support Service Animal.'

Your day lends support to my life motto: 'Nothing is Easy'.
(But at least you have good girl Whip.)
