White Birch

Excerpts from the Sheriff's Report:

1:03 a.m. - Complainant reporting a very intoxicated female is naked and passed out on the floor.  With others who thought it was normal behavior at the marijuana store.  Complainant wants a welfare check.  Deputy stopped at the residence.  States everything is OK - all individuals highly intoxicated.

6:34 a.m. - Complainant reporting threatening calls from individuals claiming they're part of the cartel.  Complainant is out of state.  People calling have his local address here.  Calls come from English-speaking individuals with slight Hispanic accent claiming complainant owes $3,000 for a prostitute he supposedly ripped off.  They claim that if he doesn't pay they will come to his house and kill everyone.  Complainant told to call if he receives more threats.

7:55 a.m. - Traffic stop on vehicle going 90 m/p/h.  Driver stated she was trying to get to school on time.  Minor driver with minor passengers.  Vehicle registration expired.  Driver was issued citation for speeding and a warning for vehicle registration.  8:51 a.m. - Caller from school reports a student hit her vehicle while trying to park.  Deputy at school reports offending vehicle is the same one he pulled over for speeding earlier.  Offending vehicle has heavy cosmetic damage.

10:52 a.m. - Walk in complaint regarding mail tampering and theft.  Complainant reporting two separate instances of mail found opened.  On one occasion, envelope was cut open but nothing removed.  Second occasion, she found an envelope was taped shut.  Complainant asked the sender, her daughter, who said she did not tape envelope closed.  A gift card was missing from the envelope.  Post Office was notified and will be informing the postal inspector.  Complainant's husband gets the mail as soon as it is delivered, which rules out tampering happening at the mailbox.

5:19 p.m. - Caller at motel requests law enforcement respond to motel.  Caller was disrespectful on the phone.  Caller called back asking where is law enforcement.  Deputy in contact with complainant who stated a group of people were yelling at him and not leaving him alone.  Complainant was aggressive to deputy.  No crimes committed.

6:37 p.m. - Complainant reported someone sprayed his dog with mace as they drove by on an electric bike.  Wants this recorded for information until individual can be identified.

7:27 p.m. - Caller states a van is sitting in their driveway.  They are scared to go out and see who it is.  Dispatch states it sounds like a delivery driver since there was a package left by front door.

7:37 p.m. - Traffic stop on two electric bikes, one individual was riding a Talaria bike, an off-road vehicle capable of speeds in excess of 60 mph.  Officer told him he can't ride it on city streets as it is not a bicycle, it can't be registered, and does not have insurance.  If seen again it will result in further law enforcement action.  8:25 p.m. - Officer attempted traffic stop on same individual riding electric bike.  Bike cut through some yards.  Officers responded to individual's residence, who was detained upon arrival.  DHHS was called as individual is a juvenile.  Bike seized as evidence and juvenile released to his mother.

8:37 p.m. - Complainant reports her granddaughter received a threatening phone call. Granddaughter's friend received the same call.  Granddaughter's friend was playing a prank using an AI recording stating the words: "I'm watching you."  Juvenile admitted to being responsible for the prank phone call after she was told law enforcement was called.  Juvenile was told not to do that again as she was wasting law enforcement officer's time.

8:52 p.m. - Reporting party request welfare check on an individual they haven't spoken to in a month.  They normally talk several times a week.  Deputy attempted contact.  Nobody came to door.  Several lights on inside but nobody visible.  A large amount of mail in the mailbox and several packages on the porch.  Neighbor states they haven't seen him in a while but the last time they did he looked to be in poor health.  Person in question is known to dislike law enforcement and has a large number of guns.  Determined that law enforcement would hot force entry.  Contact to be made with DHHS and officers will attempt contact again during the daytime.  Deputy plans to drive past residence to see if lights are turned off.  Neighbor stated they wanted to enter residence but were warned off.
