Lilacs reblooming in Autumn

My beloved wicker basket is slowly shedding it's canes.   Enough pieces have fallen off (helped along by the cats) that it can no longer perform it's function as a laundry basket.  For all of it's year's of dedicated service I've decided to give it a Viking funeral in Ragnarök.   I will also need to burn some of the documents in my oldest plastic document box to make room for 2026 this winter.  Might as well do that a bit early and burn both at once.  I went out to the garage.  The oldest box of documents is labeled '2013' so I started sorting through it.  I only need to burn documents w/ personal info and I might find something that needs to be saved longer.  In 2013 I was still milking cows, making $10/hour, and loving it.   Must have been doing a good job because by the end of the year, I was up to $11/hour.  There was a tow receipt and a insurance payment so I must have hit a deer (or maybe it was the bear).  I also put Christmas cards and birthday cards in the document box.  Had a nice letter  from Denny and Margie.  I didn't remember a Denny and Margie until I saw their picture on a Christmas card.  Nice, nice people.  I had a receipt for county plat books.  I bought more than one so that was the year the county used one of my photos for the front cover.  I also gave a donation to the Yerkes Observatory for restoration purposes.   Edward Hubble and Carl Sagan did graduate work there (though I'm not a fan of either).  Gerard Kuiper did research there (Kuiper Belt is named after him).  Albert Einstein visited in 1921.  It's the birthplace of astrophysics.  There were letters from my old doc saying he was leaving the clinic and one from the doc I have now stating she would agree to be my regular physician.   A receipt from Northwoods Furniture for one fan back rocking chair and ottoman (that's the one on the deck just outside my bedroom). I finally made it through the nostalgia and the box.   Ripped off the 2013 designation and it's ready for reuse.   Those few papers I am opting to keep are sitting in a small pile on the table.  Will go through them one more time to be sure before they go in another plastic box that is labeled simply "Keep".
