Eastern Tailed-Blue butterfly
Another absolutely beautiful summer day in the Northwoods. High in the 70's and a nice breeze. The only thing marring the day is I ran out of peppercorns. Not exactly sure how that happened. I usually have a couple of bags on hand. Before I got on-line to make my order, I looked through the rest of my spices. Spices are tricky, Their potency doesn't last forever and some I only use when making a specific dish (remember my cooking repertoire is limited). I'm down to a 1/2 bottle of minced onion and only 1/4 bottle of Herbs de Provance. Chili season is coming up but I think I'm good on Ancho chili powder and cumin. I made my selections on-line and asked to have it sent to my P.O. Box address. No problem. Reminded me that I picked up my Christmas card order at the post office this afternoon. The National Wildlife Federation (where I got the cards) said they don't deliver to P.O. Boxes so insisted I use only my physical address. Fortunately, the Post Mistress is back from vacation and knew enough to put the package in my box. (The NWF just doesn't realize they DO deliver to post office boxes.)

Thank goodness for small town post offices. It's saved us from some return mail a few times.
