Phil and Brent

The heat has found us.  Well ... I'm sure Texas and Arizona residents would scoff at our measly 90 degree weather.  Northwoods people melt at these temps though.  This morning, while it was still quite nice outside, Brent elected to have breakfast 'al fresco' so I brought it to the table on the deck.  Even the heat didn't stop Sheila who found  ripe blackberries and made a crisp.  Phil pulled up his pant leg to show how well the bite is healing.  Big excitement for me was when the plumber called (I've been calling him - third time was the charm).  He said he's going on vacation but would come out next week to fix the hot water heater in Mjolnir.  Yes, I know it's 50/50 if he'll even call back next week and iffy if he'll show up if we do set a date/time.  For now I'm just living in the moment and basking in the glow of a plumber returning my call.

I'm melting in the heat too. I hadn't realized it was coming until I got a phone call from Rachel about getting ready for the heat wave, and another from my family in Mississippi saying the same thing, so I figured Illinois was not going to be spared.
