Sunset through the Birches

Took Brother Russell down to Collegetown for his next-day checkup after getting a cataract removed.  While he checked in w/ the doc, I decided to sit out in the car and play games on my phone.  Temps were just around freezing but I figured I could turn on the car when I got cold.  Between all of the sunlight coming through the windshield and moonroof, I stayed pretty toasty until Russell reappeared.  On the way back home we stopped off in JumpRopeville.  I wanted a hamburger - a good hamburger - not the kind that the fast food places make.  I wanted crispy lettuce on it, a distinguishable piece of tomato and maybe a little raw onion for crunch.  Knew the little hole-in-the-wall café on Main Street was my best bet of getting one.  Only issue was that there were three steps up to the front door and Russell was still seeing things w/ a little wave to them.  I ordered my hamburger and Russell got the special of the day - roast beef on bread.  As we ate (food was delicious) I noticed people coming in and leaving w/ pies.  Seemed strange and then it hit me - Duh - Thanksgiving.   Bet there will be a lot of 'homemade' pies gracing Thursday's tables.

As I’m reading your post, I’m wondering to myself, “ did she have pie?”

A bit of trivia, my niece jump roped there eons ago.
