Turkey Tail fungi

Local fauna have adjusted to the snow covered landscape.  My trails are once again thoroughfares based on the number of tracks.  The birds have also decided that my feeders are a better food source than the seed and seed pods that the autumn produced.  Sandhill cranes are one of the first birds back in the spring and one of the last to leave.  It's been over a week now since I've heard them.  We don't have a lot of snow but things are settling down into the peace winter brings.  Well ... except for a surprisingly loud bang of a rifle shot every now and then.
