Out on a walk

Tried to take a pic of the ski hill lights tonight but the wind was whipping the snow (and the camera) around too much.  The north cold wind had been blowing all day and, once again, it snowed.  The weatherman said it was a 'tracking snow' for the hunters.  I don't know who he's been talking to but all of the hunters I've talked to since  coming back to the Northwoods don't track deer.  They prefer having hunting stands where they wait for the deer to amble past.  They have already checked out deer paths and preference places well before the season starts.  Since mid September it's been archery and crossbow season.  In October was a weekend where youth could hunt w/ guns.   Regular gun season begins tomorrow for nine days.  After that you can hunt w/ a muzzleloader for a little over a week and some other specialty hunts until the first week of January when the mania finally all ends.

Hope the deer find sanctuary on your land. I think the snow helps hunters that don't get a kill shot track the bleeding deer that can still move.

I love the way the snow clumps up on the prairie plants.
