Horse-drawn Wagon Parade

Today it was leftovers and going through some plastic bins of old papers and pictures that belonged to my parents and grandparents.   About half of the first bin were condolence letters to my grandparents when their son died in '37.  I might not have thought much about them before but now they give an insight into familial connections.  I was trying to get rid of things that no longer needed to be kept but only managed tossing enough to fit in a grocery bag.  Tonight it was a horse-drawn wagon parade.  Sister Connie left early to help set up the Gardening Club wagon and Brother-in-law Dan and I went later, after dark, to sit along the main drag and watch a parade of maybe 30 horse/mule drawn wagons.  Kids were happily picking up candy that participants in each float throw out to them.  Final float was of course Santa.  Really a pretty parade w/ lights adorning every wagon and the horse harnesses strung w/ bulbs too.
