Daddy-Long-Legs

Time to prep for the State Fair.   Asked a neighbor if he would look in on the animals while I was gone.  Whip has access to her outside run and cats are self sufficient but if I'm gone for over a day the animals like to know they haven't been abandoned.  Next took my piggy bank into the bank for some folding expense money.  That process took a little longer than I thought.  I drove into the bank parking lot on Wednesday but remembered then that I have another piggy bank just for pennies.  It wouldn't be much but enough for a pronto pup.  I'd come back when I had all of the banks combined.  Thursday afternoon I stopped in again only to realize this bank's lobby closes at noon.  Usually I did this yearly task at my old bank.  So made sure I got downtown the next morning.  Have $135 to spend this year.  Drove across the road and filled the car w/ gas and went through the car wash.  I'd ordered an audio book for the trip so stopped by the library to pick it up.  My mistake - had gotten a hard-cover book.  Realized when my niece Olivia was here this summer that it's been quite awhile since I read the Iliad.  I have my own audio of this classic so here's an opportunity to listen to that again.   Next, figure out what clothes to wear to the fair.  This used to be a bigger deal.  When we first started attending the Fair we would get there when the gates opened, park on the grounds, and leave at the ending daily fireworks display.  The on-grounds parking spots are gone now so we take the bus.  We are quite a bit older, none of us live in the area anymore, and we don't stay the entire day.   If our feet get tired or we spill something on our clothes we'll probably just jump on a bus and go back to the hotel.  Have a hotel reservation at the same place friends are staying.   Friend Kathy already contacted me that she had picked up a Fair ticket for me.  Part of the fun of an activity is getting ready for it.
