Birthday Cake

Electra was the daughter of Agamemnon (fortunately for her not his eldest daughter).  Also it's the name of one of my ancestors (although later I learned her name was actually 'Electa').  Anyway, during the height of Covid, I'd walk into the local cafe to pick up my lunch-to-go.  The waitress would greet me w/ a shout "Electra!"  - the name I gave when I phoned the order in.   At the new coffee shop next door to the cafe, I also give the name Electra to the barrista there.  Even w/ a name like that, she can't seem to remember me nor my usual order.  So when I decorated my birthday cake I whimsically decided to spell out 'Electra' on the top.  Didn't get it exactly straight on the icing but that's OK.  Nothing can spoil the taste of angel food cake and fresh strawberries.

Electa Ann Wood Moore was your great-great-grandmother. There are some records that refer to her as "Electra", however most records, including her headstone and obituary have her name as "Electa".
She was born in Ohio in 1817; and moved to Indiana as a child where she married in 1851. She and her husband moved to Iowa between 1852 and 1858, and ultimately to Kansas where she died and was buried in 1891.
