Phil's Frou Frou Art

While there are still major guts to be put in the garage, the builder said I could start thinking about some 'frou-frou' things to put around.  I knew what he meant - decorations to make a place your own.  This worked well into brother Phil's plans to try his hand at making a piece of art.  He needed sticks of white birch.  Not a problem.  There is a great deal of white birch here.  It's one of those adventurous trees (yes, trees can be wild!) that walks out from the forest to establish new boundaries.  We found two small trees to cut.  I took the bottom sections which were too big for his purposes and will use them for firewood.  White birch looks pretty stacked near the fireplace and, once it's dry, burns well.  He used the top portions.  Once he had put the final touches on his art piece we took it out to the garage and put it on top of the cabinets so it would be out of the way of tradespeople still coming and going.   It's made to hang on the wall but at the moment,  I kinda like it in it's current position.
