Flowers and Birthday Cake
I'm 66 today. Decided to make a favorite of mine - confetti angel food cake. Got a mix. Planned on using a Bundt pan but the Internet advised using a regular tube pan. Didn't have one but Anita did so I borrowed hers. I forgot to measure the pan to see if it was the required 10" x 4" the box demanded so once the pan was in the oven I sat on the floor in front of the oven (felt just like the 'Great British Baking Show') and watched the batter climb up the sides. It rose above the edge of the pan but stuck together. The Internet also said angel food cakes must be inverted as they cool or they will fall back into themselves. I knew there would be a reason to save the empty wine bottles my friends had left here. Balanced the cake over a former Riesling overnight. This morning I got out a can of whipped cream cheese frosting. Not the best idea for frosting on an angel food cake. It worked but I'll use a lighter cool-whip type frosting next time. Finally decorated it like it was for a 6 year old girl. Made me smile. Tasted excellent.

Happy belated birthday!!
Happy birthday! A fun cake. Do they make bday cakes on the British show?
Happy Birthday! Grandma Mayer used to make Chocolate Chiffon cakes that looked like the one you made. She turned it upside down over a pop bottle to cool. Seems like a wine bottle would be better. Glad you had one!!
