1948 - Taking a break

Brother-in-law Erling Blyseth and brothers Walter and Neil Mayer taking a break from threshing oats.  I was most impressed that the guys were all holding what looks like ceramic cups.  By the time I started taking lunch or refreshments out to the field all containers were non-breakable.  Picture taken on the Mayer farm.

Primary Day in my state.  Not only is it just a primary but it's also for only one office - State Supreme Court Judge - which is notoriously ignored by most of the populace.  So, of course, I was anxious to vote.  I'm not being facetious.  My vote will carry much more impact than normal because few people will bother to vote.    Additionally the roads are ice/snow covered enough that schools opted to start late today.    Went to vote around noon and was #20.  The poll workers often bet on the turnout count and the number was already well over one worker's guess.  The newspaper should publish the final voter turnout count tomorrow.
