1940's - Working on the Farm
Lego Club at the library tonight. The kids did their interpretation of the Winter Olympics in Lego blocks - pretty cute. After they were all picked up by their parents, things at the library quieted down. A young man stopped at the desk and asked if we had books on 'demons'. "Fiction or Non-Fiction?" I asked. He explained that he wanted to do research. Two adults in the library seemed concerned about his request and were questioning if he should be given this kind of material. I didn't see the difference between his request and my love of mythology. In fact, he ended up checking out Bulfinch's Mythology and ordering two books from other libraries. As a library volunteer, I'm not going to pass judgement on what other people choose to read. If I did the Harlequin paperbacks would be burning in the middle of the parking lot right now.

Agree on burning the Harlequin's but probably could save a few of the front covers. Ha!
