Phil & Sheila berry picking

One of those years where there is an overlap of ripe raspberry season and ripe blackberry season. Phil and Sheila are spending the weekend working hard to get as many picked and frozen as possible. It is work since these last days have been in the 80's and humid. In addition, blackberry thorns are strong enough to draw blood. Once they bring them back to the house, Sheila puts them in a single layer on a cooking sheet and freezes them. She takes them out after an hour and puts them in quart baggies. Pops those back in the freezer and puts another layer of berries on the sheet for freezing.  I have benefited from their labors too -  ice cream w/ fresh berries every night!
