Hazelnuts
It's Autumn and, according to my Monthly-To-Do spreadsheet, a busy time of the year. Things to do in prep of freezing weather. Things to put away because summer is over. Things to do to get ready for the upcoming holidays. Decided to put that all off and go to a movie in the afternoon. After the Fair, Friend Kathy and I had planned attending a matinee showing the latest film in the Jurassic Park series. Unfortunately, our favorite theater had just closed and it was difficult to even find a theater with matinee showings much less one that still had that movie. We did find a matinee showing of Weapons in a suburb and I'm glad we saw it since I probably wouldn't have gone to it on my own. I'm not sure why I felt like seeing a movie today - I don't often go. However, when I checked the movies in Churchtown there was Jurassic World Rebirth w/ a matinee showing! Seemed like a sign. I picked up my ticket. Chose my seat (with the help of the agent who said C5 was the best location). Bought a small popcorn and soda. Found the room, my seat, and settled in. Except for two guys way in the back, I had the place to myself. A couple walked in and sat down right next to me. I wondered why, in a wide open theater, they would have picked seats right next to a stranger? My paranoid self said they thought I would feel uncomfortable enough to move and they would have the best seats (according to the theater worker) to themselves. I did consider changing seats but decided to let this scenario play out and see what happened. When the lights came down for the beginning of the movie the couple got up and went to another row. Interesting. As for the movie itself... you need to suspend logic in many parts but it had explosions, people dying (all as dinosaur fodder), and not a lot of dialog - a good flick in my grading system.
