On my spreadsheet for Things-To-Do-By-Month, August is when I pick up my Christmas cards and next year's calendars for the New Year. I like to get them now because the new designs have just became available, sometimes there are sales, no worrying about if they will arrive on-time, and they will be here, ready to go, whenever it's time to use them. I have a specific place I put both the cards and the calendars each year so three months from now I'll be able to put my hands on them immediately. There are other benefits to this system. This year, for example, when I realized the place I usually buy cards from had discontinued selling them I had plenty of time to look elsewhere for suitable cards.
