Went back to Winter Greenhouse this morning w/ Friend Nancy and picked up the other plants I had on my list - something climbing (a clematis), a replacement Oriental Lily (got to remember Zone 3 and not Zone 4), another daylily. Picked up lettuce plants for a 'salad bowl' which will include basil and thyme in the center. Herbs for my 'smelly pot' which will have plants that smell nice - mint, lavender, etc. Got home in time to watch the new Pope be presented in Rome. I'd ordered the film 'Conclave' because I wanted to watch it while one was actually going on. Kind of anticlimactic now. Late afternoon I drove into the village for my volunteer stint at the library. Librarian Trevor is settling in. His desk is absolutely clean, he noticed that the website for the book club is two years out of date, and he's working to understand how the Summer Reading Program will work now that the Beanstalk app isn't available this year. I know the status quo is comfortable but a periodic change in leadership can be a good thing.
