Bloodroot

After the usual morning routine I planted all of the flowers I bought yesterday.   I had picked up the plants here and there as I liked colors so I think it's impressive that I had exactly enough plants for the six planters I had to make.  Yes, I know there are only five graves to decorate for Memorial Day weekend but I try to do a sixth so that if one of the pots isn't blooming at it's prime come that weekend, I have a substitute.  A little windy today so I opened up Mjolnir's garage door and staged the pots just inside.  Plenty of sun but out of the wind.  Shut the door tonight since the forecast is temps may fall pretty close to freezing.  Those plants better enjoy all this pampering for the next three weeks.    After they've done their bit for the holiday, they will be on their own w/ the rest of the flowers on the deck.

As for the status of  things I'm monitoring: the solar array has been daily producing over 180 kWh of electricity; haven't seen any bluebirds, bobolinks, or hummingbirds yet; and I've had a total of five ticks on me so far.  Of course, I haven't yet done the tick check for tonight.
