The breakfast souffle kinda got away from me
Was about to leave the house to do today's errands when I got a call from the Clinic. Time to make an appointment for a colonoscopy. I agreed to a mid-June date. Gives me two months to find someone to drive there & pick me up afterward. I jumped into the car and went into the village to the bank. I'm down to my last book of checks so handed the teller the reorder slip. In sotto voce she said they were expensive. I'd already checked on-line for companies that will print any kind of pretty check you desire. The difference in price wasn't all that much. From there I went to the Post Office. The package that had been diverted to Jacksonville, FL was here. I wondered why it took this package a week to travel about 150 miles but only two days to make the return trip of 1,500 miles. Of course the package did look like it had been dragged all that way. Time for Whip's annual checkup and Lyme's vaccination. My county is Lyme's disease central. Whip gets an annual vaccination plus a monthly pill to keep ticks off. I also asked the vet to check her over. She's still a svelte 60 lbs and is in good health. Once Whip was again secured in the back of the car it was off to the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). Looking at all of those driver's licenses during the election reminded me to check when I needed to renew mine. This year! Filled out the required form on-line last night and brought it w/ me. April mid-afternoon: too late in the day for people coming to the DMV on their lunchbreak; too early to be after work; students wouldn't be out of school; retirees were taking naps; snowbirds haven't yet returned, Tuesday isn't the beginning/ending of the work week; and I'm renewing three months early. As good a time as I could think of to hit the DMV offices. It was. I walked in the door and was waved right over to the first station. The cute DMV guy had me sign the form I brought in, had me step over to the side where he took two pics of me, and then look into a a little gizmo and read out the letters I saw. He signed the paperwork. Punched a hole in my driver's license and handed me a piece of paper which he explained would allow me to drive for up to 45 days while I was in license limbo. I gave him a check for $35 and was sent on my way. Total time: 10 minutes. A celebratory stop at McD's on the way out of town so Whip could have a cheeseburger for not biting the vet and I a latte for ... well ... I didn't bite anyone either.

I volunteer to be your driver if you want. Also I see your latte and would like to know how you make that. AD
Now I know when the best time to get in at the DMV is. Thank you!
