Picked up Friend Nancy for breakfast yesterday. Now that tax season is over, she is no longer working her part time job at an accounting firm so went along w/ me on my errands: winter sweaters to dry cleaning, Farm & Fleet for birdseed, Hobby Lobby for bright spring-like kitchen rugs, Goodwill (goodbye midi skirt), and Cabin Coffee for enough coffee beans to keep me caffeinated for quite awhile. This morning a rainstorm was coming in. Whip and I got our morning constitutional in before it hit. Watched the rain and figured I should be able to put out the rain gauge again. After the rain stopped, Whip and I walked out to do just that. As soon as I opened the door though she spotted a rabbit and took off. No worries. Whip can catch a squirrel, rat, mole, and most other little creatures but not rabbits. I headed off to retrieve the gauge from Sleipnir when I heard a familiar series of tunes. Wonderful - the brown thrasher's back!
