Ian at Boston Marathon
Nephew Ian ran in the Boston Marathon this year. I knew he was planning on doing it but kinda forgot about it until reminded. (Will have to work on my Aunt skills.) He came in after 2 hours 30 minutes (215th overall). His family managed an almost parallel feat, in my estimation, in encouraging him on at Mile 6 and then driving Boston streets to see him again at Mile 25 before meeting him at the end of the race. (Anyone who has negotiated Boston knows what I'm talking about.) Once over the finish line, Ian vomited and was sweating salt from his pores but was on what's called a Runner's High. That's what I call giving it everything you've got at that moment. Made me wonder what I could do around here to give it all I've got - maybe without the vomiting and sweating salt thing - to get that accomplishment high? Will think about it.

If you're a bad aunt I'm a bad neighbor. I followed a link that Mike posted which tracked Ian's progress during the race. It wasn't until the race was over that I thought, "Oh, I should have given that link to Susan". Sorry. A.D.
Super proud mom here - Ian came in 215th overall out of 28,800 runners! He plans to run in the Chicago marathon on October 12th this year, too.
215 overall at the Boston Marathon is incredible. Congratulations to Ian!
