In search of the Easter Bunny

Sun was coming up when Whip woke me w/ her barking.  She ran back and forth from the bedroom to the living room.  Figured it was probably deer but, since it was time to get up anyway, I looked out the bedroom windows.  Couldn't see anything.  Went out to the living room but didn't see anything from there either.  Followed Whip's gaze out the window but it just looked like dried grass to me.   Probably wasn't a porcupine since Whip had run from the bedroom out to the living room trying to keep it in view.  No porcupine moves that fast.  Probably not a skunk either - most skunks ignore barking dogs (until they get too close).  I opened up the back door and Whip tore outside.  That's when I saw the coyote down on the path.  He blended in w/ the colors of the dry grass pretty well.  He ran off a bit down the path but then turned to look back. Whip wisely stopped running after a few yards.  Coyotes will sometimes tempt a dog back to the waiting pack where it's outnumbered.  I yelled.  Whip barked.  The coyote decided to trot back into the woods.  I can live w/ the coyotes but the meadow is too close for comfort.
