One if by land, two if by sea

Feel pretty safe in saying spring has arrived.  There are no below freezing temps in the 10 day forecast.  The rainstorm yesterday included lightning and thunder.  This morning earthworms were crawling out and about on the driveway.  (Reminds me - folk lore was right.  There were just three snowstorms after the robins returned.)  Today is also the 250th anniversary of Paul Revere's ride.  Excellent time to remember the efforts made to bring us freedom from a mad man.  The local historical society sent me ideas on how to celebrate.

(1) Dress in period clothing.  Women wore long dresses.  Looked in my closet.  I have a leather mini (good memories), a plaid midi (should get rid of that), and an an abaya (gift from Cairo).  None of those emit a Colonial American vibe to me.

(2) Read Henry Wadsworth poem 'The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere'.  Not a bad idea.  Will do that tonight before I go to bed.

(3) Share your participation on social media.  This blog is about as 'social' as I get.  So that's done.

(4)  Light two candles in your window tonight.  Could do that but thought of something even better.  Since Mother Nature has decided to act more spring like, I set out the two garden poles Sister Connie made.  I store them away in the autumn when temps go below freezing to protect them from harsh winter elements and the snowplow guy.   They are both topped by solar lights.  There it is -  a nightly remembrance of Paul Revere's ride (at least until next autumn.)
