Barn Quilt
Time to change the oil in the car. I don't go down to the dealership in Collegeville anymore but get it done in town by cute Mechanic Eric. I still need to wait around while the car is worked on. Eric's 'waiting room' consists of a couple of chairs by his counter but it's a short walk around the corner and up half a block to the cafe. After a leisurely breakfast, I walked a short distance to the coffee shop. The coffee shop is the hub for gossip and word of my solar panels has gotten around. Neighbor Ronnie greeted me w/ "Get any power from your panels on a day like today?" (i.e. cloudy) I picked up a latte and sat at a table to wait out the short time before Eric said the car would be ready. Friend Colleen stopped at my table excited that she had an audience with the art teacher at the school to talk about donated books. I asked her to mention that the library would love to have a display of student artwork. (Nothing like having kid's creations on display to get parents to come in!) I wandered back down the block to the auto shop and there was my car ready to go. Home in plenty of time before the snowstorm due in the afternoon.
