Barn Quilt
Up again early and off to see the doc for my annual physical. Everything in my blood work was within norms. Blood pressure was really high. I whipped out the card where I keep track of my pressure when I'm at home. I've been doing that ever since Doc Amy figured out that more medicine wasn't helping and what was really going on was 'white coat syndrome'. I also brought out my list of three things to talk to her about. Providing a focus to these meetings makes things go smoother. She told me about how she'd had kidney stones while pregnant. Not sure the point of her telling that story except it made me think my issues are pretty minor. After that I went downstairs for my mammogram. Being touched that much makes me feel a little off kilter but I still had to stop off at the County Clerk's office. I'd offered to pick up the cartridges, ballots, and tabulator for the Town Clerk since I would be in the vicinity. Signed off on chain-of-custody for everything (of course there is paperwork) and then put it in the car. Had either forgotten how heavy the tabulator is or I'm getting weak. Barely managed to lift it into the back of the car. Drove directly to the town hall and managed to lift the tabulator out of the car. Would be great if I had some help. Suddenly in drives a car. I'm looking toward the sun so couldn't see who it is until he stepped out and greeted me w/ a "Hi Sue." It's Town Supervisor Dennis. (Who says there isn't a God!) He had stopped by to pick up something out of the office and was happy (at least he said he was) to help me heft the tabulator over a snowbank and in the front door. Then we lifted it atop it's bin and I plugged it in. It will be ready to go by Monday's Public Test! We locked up the building again and I thanked Dennis profusely. Decided I should treat myself so drove back into the village. Had breakfast at the cafe and brought home a latte from the coffee shop. Not quite 10 a.m. - sat down w/ the coffee to figure out what to do with the rest of my day.
