Barn Quilt

Strong wind out of the north all day.  Hoped I wouldn't see a solar panel fly past but everything stayed tight.  Tonight at the library, Librarian Colby is making progress on her office.  A book buyer came through and bought a lot of books in the sale room that have been there for a long time - which made room for the books that have been sitting in her room.  She moved all of the boxes out and when we have time, the volunteers sort through them.  I grabbed my box of music CD's again.  Someone had dropped all of the CD's I had sorted before and now they were all mixed up together in the box w/ other's I haven't yet gone through.  I'd attended the last Friends of the Library meeting where they had decided to no longer accept school books, video tapes, and were thinking they should be more selective on CD's they would accept in the future.   For that reason I decided I would be ruthless when it came to these music CD's.  No more looking each up to see if we had it, if other library's had it, if it was still being checked out.  If it wasn't from this century it would be put in the sold pile - maybe.   I started piles on my desk.  One for CD's the library should keep.   Others of show tunes, 'Best Of', vocals, instrumentals, etc.   When I finished I handed Colby five CD's with a note on the top to put into circulation at the library.  Then gave her the Inspirational pile and the Country pile - another 20 CD's total.   We have different sections in the library for Inspirational and Western books because those genre's are popular in this part of the country.   Told her I didn't know if that translated over into music too but she could make the decision and either circulate or put in the sale pile.  Lastly I handed her about 30 CD's of Irish music.   Colby is trying a different promotional gimmick each month and February is 'Blind Date with a Book' (think of it as a 'Tinder for Readers').  I'd broken out the Irish music in case there was something she had planned for March that included a St. Patty's Day theme.  The rest of the box (hundred or so) should go into the Sale Room.   Some aren't too bad - I'll buy a few if they make it that far.
