Twin fawns

GNO (Girls Night Out) Christmas this weekend.  Just picking out a gift is way too easy for women of our culture, taste, and sophistication.  We choose a different theme for our gift giving each year.  This year the gift needed to be 'creepy'.  To spice things up a bit more we picked adjectives for our creepy gifts.  Kathy had to give a 'dazingly creepy' gift.  Nancy a 'little creepy' gift and I a 'whimsically creepy' gift.  Kathy gave me a hooded blanket complete w/ arms and ears.  She included a black-light flashlight so I could see that the all of the stars on it actually did dazingly glow in the dark.  It is large enough so this winter I believe not only I but Whip and the cats can all find room enough under it to stay warm.  Nancy gave Kathy a children's book w/ a bright yellow cover entitled "All My Friends are Dead".  None of us could figure out why  it was in a hospital's gift shop but that's where she bought it.  Also included was an Edgar Allan Poe planter and two pair of socks that hold hands w/ each other.  (It's done by magnet.)  I gave Nancy a door mat emblazoned "Trespassers will be Composted",  plant markers in the shape of tombstones, a "Gardening ... because Murder is Wrong" note book, and a creeping succulent in a planter labeled "Remember Everyone thinks our family is normal" (Sister Connie gave me that idea.)  We all felt we had kept to the theme well.   Also picked our next year's topic - A gift for a holiday in the month you were born.  Nancy was born in December so has lots of holidays to pick from.  Kathy in March which is holiday rich also.  Me - August - the only month w/ no national holidays.  Not a problem.  We will also allow national observances too.  What to give for "National Just Because Day"?

Love all the gifts. You sound like you have an idea already but Lammastide is in August to celebrate the wheat harvest...We just had an early celebration at our house. Fresh bread and beer make for an easy wheat-based party.
