The Rabbit under the Deck

I sat on the couch after breakfast and fell asleep.  I came up to conciousness occasionally but just couldn't transition to being fully awake.  Whip was content to nap w/ her head on my lap.  I'm assuming my midmorning nap was due to a warm house (50 degrees outside with the sun shining in), nothing pressing on the schedule, and that I stayed up past midnight and at 5 a.m. had a  wet cold nose pressed to my cheek.  Around noon I finally managed to get up.   Spent the afternoon completing the usual daily activities though the long walk w/ the dog didn't occur until around sunset.  The long walk is exercise for Whip.  Usually I'm checking out the countryside but this time of year there isn't much going on.  So while we walked I thought about that all-morning nap.  Initially thought I should be more understanding of older people who sleep for a long time during daylight hours.  Then considered that it might be a sign of dementia.  Didn't like that option so decided I'm probably just lazy.  As the house came into view concluded that next walk I'll spend the time contemplating something more fun.
