Still Making Snow
This morning's errands would be to go into town to get my mail, grocery shopping, and finally pick up something to eat before coming home. Got a call from my insurance agent before I left. My car insurance was going up and they had found a cheaper alternative. Did I want to change? Thought discussing it face to face would be faster than on the phone so said I'd stop by. Just another addition to the errand list. The agency has suggested cheaper options before. Cost isn't my primary concern when it comes to auto insurance. When insurance is needed it's because there has just been an accident/crisis. An insurance company should be responsive, not nit-picking, and utterly reliable on paying. I'd just started with Auto-Owners Insurance when I came back to this state and over the next years hit a number of deer (plus one bear that hit me). Auto-Owners had sent an adjuster within a day, paid quickly, and my deductable in each case was $100. Plus I didn't notice that my insurance was raised with those various collisions. I looked up Equity Insurance which the agent was suggesting and it said it specialized in "non-standard auto insurance". Had to look up what that meant. Wasn't sure Equity and I were a good fit. Later I stopped off at my insurance agent's office. The difference in price wasn't what I would call significant and I explained to her why I would stick w/ my current insurance. My visit wasn't in vain. I did get a 2024 Auto-Owner's calendar.
