Candle

For the past three weeks my laptop has occasionally been crashing with the 'blue screen of death'.  Most often means a piece of hardware is failing.  Stopped by Hayes Computers this morning to get a new one.  My requirements are short - a large screen.  Chuck had a new one in.  He also had a secondary CD reader, a backup drive, could move all of my data from the old to the new, and would wipe my old laptop and recycle it.  He started the process and said if I had errands I could do those and come back.  I took off.  My last stop was the John Deere dealer.  I checked in at the service area and asked if this would be a good time to do maintenance on my garden tractor  The guy behind the counter seemed ecstatic (something you see in the sales staff but rare in the service group).  If I would be home later they would send out someone to pick it up this afternoon.  Wow.  Usually I wait until the snowbanks melt enough so I can back the lawnmower out of Sleipnir and then it takes John Deere up to a month to get around to picking it up.  Guess not having much snow has it's advantages.    Stopped in at Hayes but my computer had crashed a few times while he was trying to move data so he said it would be another hour.  Told him not a problem and I'd be back around 4.  So ... one of my spring activities is checked off and I spent the rest of the day reestablishing connections to the Internet, Camera, Printer, E-mail, etc.  Seems an apropos start for a New Year.
