A Bit Big for the Feeder
More Chinese lore - clean your house on New Year's Eve so you get rid of any remaining bad luck. Yesterday I washed dishes and clothes and put away the Christmas dishes. Took a shower. Chinese lore than says to not clean anything at all on New Year's Day so you don't get rid of any good luck. That's pretty easy. The New Year's good luck can be amplified by wearing red underwear. I don't have any (mental note to see if I could pick some up so I'd have it for next New Year's Day). It's also good luck to watch lions and dragons on New Year's Day. The Lions were playing but not on any channel I could find. Instead caught the end of the Packers game. They won so I'm assuming that should be worth a little extra good luck. I ate leftovers on New Year's Eve but for New Year's Day it was something I had just cooked. There are two issues: (1) Chinese New Year does not coincide with New Years on our Gregorian calendar. Technically I suppose all of these things should be done next month. (2) I don't actually believe in luck as a physical thing or embodied in a talisman. Just kinda fun to step into another culture's customs from time to time.

Nice capture! They're usually pretty elusive.
