The Christmas Tree

Any snow we had has melted and doesn't look like any more will come in time for Christmas.  Not totally awful,  I don't remember being able to walk out through the pastures this close to Christmas and today the walks were through a lovely thick fog.    The tree, as you can see, is in the house.   My mother wouldn't allow us to put a tree up in the house until a week out from Christmas and I keep to that tradition.  I do wonder if a tree is put up right after Thanksgiving, after a month do the ornaments need to be dusted?  The other reason I didn't bring this tree in earlier is it's alive.  I've kept it in Mjolnir where the temp is only 45 degrees.  This white spruce isn't going to be particularily happy in the much warmer house but it will be in here for a week at most before I take it back to the shed.  Next spring I'll plant it out by the last two Christmas trees.  Another advantage of having a living tree is it's small.  Gives me a reason to shop - for tiny ornaments.
