Two Suns

Excerpts from Sheriff's Report:

3:50 a.m. - Car parked behind dumpster of closed gas station.  Subjects advised officer they were tired and stopped to rest and talk.  Officer spoke to subjects separately and female said she was there on her own free will.  Officer advised them to return to her residence immediately.

1:17 p.m. - Caller advised two men with ropes at bridge pulling something from the water. Officer advised subjects are magnet fishing and the magnet is stuck on something.  They are attempting to pull the rope out with their vehicle  Officer will remain on scene.  Officer advised subjects were able to retrieve their magnet and will pack up and leave shortly

6:21 p.m. - Tow truck removing vehicle from swamp.  Driver reported vehicle was westbound on road.  He reached for a soda and overcorrected at about 30-35 m/p/h.  Officer looked at crash scene and this scenario was not likely.  Advised driver of this.  Driver then reported he was having a bad day, accelerated, fishtailed, and lost control.  Driver was cooperative and warned for lying.  Driver also advised to report crashes to law enforcement.

6:48 p.m. - Caller requests officer to keep peace while meeting to exchange cats.  Two cats exchanged peacefully.

6:49 p.m. - Caller requests deputy.  He lent vacuum cleaner to neighbor and she won't give it back.  Deputy spoke with female who advised the vacuum is hers and she loaned it to the reporting party a week ago.  She reported they have had a falling out and now he is being petty  Both parties advised it is a civil matter to be settled in court.

7:44 p.m. - Caller advised of fighting behind a trailer behind the bar.  Officer advised of nofighting, just family telling ghost stories and kids screaming at the stories in the dark as the power is out.  Nothing going on that law enforcement needs to address.  There is also an eviction notice between the parties going on.

7:58 p.m. - Vehicle traveling 35-40 mph on highway which produced a long line of traffic behind it.  Everyone was passing the vehicle and officer followed it to 4-way intersection.  No poor driving observed other than slower than posted speed.  Vehicle went through four-way stop at about 20 mph without stopping.  Intersection was clear.  Officer attempted traffic stop after observing stop sign violation.  Vehicle continued and pulled into bank lot.  Elderly female exited vehicle and advised she did not know officer was behind her until then.  She said she was driving slowly watching for deer.  She drove through stop sign because there were no other vehicles in intersection.  Driver warned for not stopping for stop sign and for not stopping for emergency vehicles.  No citation issued due to circumstances with driver's age.  Driver advised not to drive at night if possible.
