Hairy Woodpecker
I didn't run a water feed under the driveway to Sleipnir because I was warned that a water line there had a high possibility of failing. I only need it in the winter when I've got plants in there. Transporting water cans of water from Mjolnir to Sleipnir can get tricky if I have to get through two snowdrifts w/ my hands full of watering cans. I store a big plastic trash can in Sleipnir over winter. In the summer it's on the deck to catch rainwater that I use to water the outside plants. Last winter I began pouring any excess water after watering plants in that trash can. A better option than dumping the water outside where it turns into an ice slick. By February I had enough water in the trash can that I didn't need to bring more water over - just dipped the watering cans in there. About the same time realized that at 45 degrees, the plants only need to be watered once a month rather than once a week. (Found mushrooms growing in one pot.) This year, after I again move the plastic trash can into Sleipnir, I began to slowly fill it w/ water. Now that it's full, shouldn't need to transport any water this winter through those snow drifts. I still need to wade through the snow to get to the building but maybe I'll think of something this year to make that easier too.
