Thanksgiving Dinner - Part IV

Today I'd planned on making apfelkuchen (like Grandma made) or a raspberry cheesecake (since I wanted to use up the extra raspberries I used in fresh fruit skewers) for the Thanksgiving dessert.  First though, a conversation with my brother reminded me that I hadn't yet contributed to Shop-With-A-Cop.   Bopped over in the morning with a check to the County Court House.  Turns out if you want to get a marriage license at the Clerk's office, title search at the Register of Deeds, pay property taxes at the Treasurer's Office, procure a building permit at the Zoning Office, ask for aid from Health & Human Resources, or donate money to the Sheriff's department you can't do it the day after Thanksgiving.  The entire building was locked up.  Maybe like on the Andy Griffith Show, they empty the jail for holidays w/ the inmates promise of returning the next week?  So my trip to the County Seat wouldn't be in vain (and to perk up my spirits a little) I stopped off at Toad House and ordered a latte.  They also had individually sized raspberry cheesecakes. I picked up one of those too.  Got home, plated it all using the Christmas dishes.  Can make an apfelkuchen later and the raspberries will be perfect for breakfast.
