Timed the entrée of my Thanksgiving meal for today's meal. I wanted something colorful on the plate. Planned a quiche with a side of vegetable saffron rice. Meant the only thing to prep this morning was cooking the saffron rice (it's best to add it to the stir fried vegetables after it's cooled off). Instead of coffee warmed up apple cider w/ a stick of cinnamon, cloves, and some other mulling spices. Watched the
National Dog Show with Whip. She hasn't figured out yet that barking from the TV isn't real so she was on high alert for the entire program. Afterward the sun was out, there was a brisk wind, and it felt good to take a walk in the bracing below freezing temps. Whip must not be fully acclimated to the colder weather though since she stuck w/ me the entire time instead of following her nose down various scent trails. Thanksgiving isn't entirely over yet - I still have the dessert course to make for tomorrow - and, like everyone else, another week of leftovers.
