Plant drool
I have some things for the library's semiannual Book-Bake-New2U sale this weekend. I've been taking in books off and on all summer. The Village Hall (with whom the library shares the building) has allowed the library use of one of their rooms so we can stage the book sale in there. No more last minute sorting sale books into categories and by author. Baked goods don't come in until Friday. However, the New2U things can be brought in this week. I won't make the sale this time but am always up for a chance to do some 'Swedish Death Cleaning' plus benefit the library. I gathered some things together. First was a large pressed glass serving dish embossed with cherubs. I've had it for a number of years. Think it would be perfect to serve hors d'oeuvres at a wedding or at a Valentine's party. Since I don't plan on doing either anytime in the future, thought I'd let someone else buy it who might. Next was a toy I was given as a gag gift once. Again, I've had it for a couple of years and haven't even taken off the plastic wrapping. It's cute - just not my thing. Maybe it will become some pre-teen's Christmas stocking stuffer. Third thing is a white and silver picture frame. It's not my frame but the giver doesn't want it back and the receiver doesn't want it. It could become a very pretty addition to someone's collection of family pictures. I dropped them off at the library this morning and stopped to talk w/ the volunteer on duty. They'd had a meeting last night and decided no 'early buying' this year. Had been the best part of setting up for the sales: a chance to buy things ahead of the actual sale. Should be a good turnout since the Kiwanis Club is having their annual pancake breakfast just down the block.
