Perfect Autumn Day. Cool enough for a coat, breezy, and sunlit. The soft maples and oaks have already turned color and dropped their leaves. The hard maples are turning now and the birch are thinking about it. Each day I try to think of something outside or in one of the out buildings to do. The idea is I won't have anything left to do when the weather does get nasty. Inside it's cold enough to do some baking. Remembered Brother Phil was a big fan of lemon poppyseed muffins from Gateway Gourmet so made four small loaves of the stuff. A good bake but a little dry. A smear of butter fixes that right up.

Wish we had that little shop down here. All I had to do was mention that I liked lemon poppy seed and from then on the shop had them. Something to say for a small town.
Figured out why the breads were on the dry side. I read recipe wrong and put in an extra 1/4 cup of flour. Time to reprint recipe in a larger font!
