A Show-off in the Crowd

The street by the library parking lot has been torn up the last part of the summer.  Our attendance has suffered ever since August.  Tonight the librarian had left me about 20 books to add to the 'New Books for September' sign.   Updated the stats list for the last week.  Put some books the volunteer before me hadn't finished putting away and pulled some books that have been requeseted to be sent to other libraries.  Two people came in.  One was the morning shift volunteer and she just wanted to pick up the door keys.  The other was her walking companion.  They both left within five minutes.  So it was a super quiet night shift.  Since no one was in the library but me I started listening to an audio book that had just arrived.  Actually a good thing for me that it was a quiet shift.  My knee got messed up in the morning.  It's happened before and I've found if I can rest it, it goes back to normal.  All day it seemed I just couldn't sit long enough for that to happen but once it was time to go home from the library, my knee was basically OK again.   Finally something good comes from tearing up streets!
