Hooded Merganser pair
I decided to go to the monthly town meeting tonight. More as a whim than for a real purpose. I could pick up my check from working the last election - save the town postage. Could find out what the board dictates as next steps for the upgraded Comprehensive Plan. Could get the lowdown on how the town roads are handling all of the excess water runoff. Plus the chairman had called me this morning in response to my query of whose responsibility it was to reset my firesign. He said it is mine. Seeing me show up for a meeting would probably give him pause. I was a little late for the start of the meeting. I volunteer at the library from 4-7 and the town meeting begins at 7. The board was just finishing up w/ the Public Comment section and looked to me expectantly. Shook my head no. (I had apologized to the roofer that my sign wasn't visable and he must have reset it for me.) As soon as the Board OK'd the checks, the treasurer handed me mine. The board set a date for a town meeting when the people of the town can vote on accepting the Comprehensive Plan update. Town roads are handling the Big Melt well except where one man's driveway is higher than the town road (the board will remind him again that he needs a bigger culvert or they will put a bigger one in this fall and charge him on his property taxes.) Devil's Creek is once again trying to carve a new path but that affects county roads. I sat back and enjoyed listening to everyone pronouncing 'creek' as 'crick' (as it should be). One of those little pleasures in life.
