White lily

As you can tell, August is the month for lilies.  My oriental lilies are coming out and all of the different colored daylilies on the septic mound are in bloom too.  I've added 'picking daylilies' to my daily tasks.  My affection for lilies started when my grandmother told me I needed to ask permission to pick any of her flowers - except daylilies.  Each flower lasts only a day so it didn't matter if I took all of the open ones - there would be more tomorrow.  She showed me how to nip off just the flower and leave the rest of the buds on the stem.  When I got older I discovered other types of lilies and their intoxicating aromas.  So I started planting those.  Plus, in one of life's wierd twists, turns out my name means 'lily'.
