Sunflower

Was at the polls from 6:30 a.m. until 9:30 p.m. w/ neighbor Anita and chief inspector Barb.   Makes for a long day but we did see a lot of neighbors.  The ballot was a bit much for some people so I was answering questions, figuring out why some ballots were rejecting, and spoiling other ballots so the voter could start all over again.  The county clerk had given us plenty of sample ballots (different color and stamped in big letters 'SAMPLE') so if anyone brought their kids in to vote, I gave the kids a sample ballot and showed them how it would get filled out.  Sent them home w/ the sample in hopes it would cause parents to talk about how they had voted or perhaps the platforms for each party with their children.  Even w/ the tabulator counting all of the ballots as they were cast, we still had an hour and a half after the polls closed to fill out all of the paperwork.  There was a politician on the ballot that advocates going back to hand-counting all ballots.  Make's me think I may still be ordering that #8 from Taco John's.
