Clearwing Hummingbird Moth

Second training session with Whip and Jormungandr.  Can't blame her for being shy around vehicles - she was put into lots of different ones for her trip from Texas to the Northwoods.  We stopped near a slough and I went butterfly hunting.  I stood where I had a clear view of a bunch of thistles.  The butterflies love them and so do the finches.  Too bad so many people eradicate them.  A movement caught my eye and even from a distance I knew what it was.  It's hard to miss something that looks like a flying shrimp.  Always fun to see hummingbird moths.
