Toilet planter

When I built Haven I bought two tall regular toilets for my bathroom and the guest bathroom.  For the laundry room though I bought a short 'power assist flush' toilet.  The tall toilets have become the norm and the 'power assist flush' required readjustment every spring or it wouldn't fully flush.  This spring when I made the adjustment I did something wrong.  The water just kept running and it wouldn't flush at all.  I turned off the water feed to the toilet.  Bought a tall standard toilet (that happened to be on sale) and called the plumber that had done the plumbing for Mjolnir.  No answer.  Called him weekly for the next two weeks before looking in the phone book.  My neighbor who put the plumbing in Haven was still listed so I left a message w/ him (two in fact).  The house being built on the next road has plumbers from another town.  I put a call into them.  No response.  Went on-line but that was it for plumbers in the area.  Still had the phone number of a plumber who had come to the house about ten years ago.  I left a message for him.  He did call back but just to say he was retired now.   I'd run out of options.  Fortunately, Phil said he'd put in toilets before so he removed the old one and installed the new one.  There was some hilarious discussion about what to do w/ the old one and while it sits on the lawn I placed flowers in it.  Actually doesn't look too bad.  Don't worry.  While my HOA would allow it, I don't plan on it sticking around.

My HOA main concern is the environment and reuseability so not putting pesticides on the lawn, mowing around blooming patches of flowers, and looking for ways to repurpose a toilet are OK w/ them. Unfortunately, toilets aren't easy to find new 'homes' for. I suggested to use it for target practice but that would leave small shards of ceramic everywhere. It will eventually find it's way to the dump unless someone comes up w/ a use for it.

I like the idea of turning it into a fountain in the middle of Gorgeous Gorge. It would be a 'Gorgeous Bidet'!
