Lilies

Another beautiful day in the Northwoods.  The air smells of cut hay and milkweed.  High temp was in the 70's and there was a nice breeze.  I was told down at the library by a couple of locals that we needed more rain.  The statement surprised me.   Everything here is lush and green.  Well not the cut hay but even that got rained on a couple of times before my neighbor could bale it.  Gorgeous Gorge is full of water.  The sloughs are dry but then they usually are this time of year.  The sign at the Fire Station has been "LOW" for fire threat all this month.  My rain barrel on the back deck is full. I fell in the woods because I stepped on a slippery rock.  What else is there to check?
