Last day of the library's Summer Reading Program. It's been going on since June w/ special activities every Thursday night. The Summer Reading Program volunteers put on a luau on the library lawn tonight. Everyone got a lei, there were a couple of bouncy houses outside, hot dogs, and root beer. After an hour, all of the children and their parents came back into the library and prizes were given out: Aquarium passes, Waterpark passes, a Lego Shark kit, etc. Each week if a child read, they could spin a wheel and get a prize. Tonight even those remaining prizes were all dispersed. All of the kiddos seemed sated and happy as they left and we went only 15 minutes over the library's 7 p.m. close time. Even Dunder got enjoyment out of the night's activities. After I got back home he found my lei drapped over the back of a chair. He just couldn't figure out why he could pull over and over again on the lei but it was never ending.
