Not Liking the Rain

My winter-long companions have left.  April 1st there was still  a large flock of redpolls coming in early in the morning for a feeding frenzy on sunflower hearts and thistle seed.  April 2nd they were gone.  I do see maybe three or so redpolls daily at the feeders.  They call more than they did.  I'm not sure if they are wondering where everyone went or happy that there isn't as much competition for spots on the feeders.  These also might not be "my" redpolls.  They could be from further south and on their own migration north.  I've already had a visit from one of their summer replacements.  A red-winged blackbird flew in to the feeders yesterday to see if he could manage to steal food from feeders built for much smaller birds.

Was fun to watch them when I was up there. Hope you get some bluebirds this year.
