Another early morning appointment. The doc wanted a blood draw from me and the temps this morning were near zero w/ a fierce wind. Decided to pair a short-sleeved t-shirt w/ an anorak. On the drive over to the clinic I popped a breath mint in my mouth, sucked on it for a moment, then spit it out. Forgot. This is a fasting blood draw. The clinic had warned me in their letter and by a call that I had to wear a mask. This mask is a little hard to keep in place but turns out my stocking cap pulled down over my ears worked really well in resolving that little problem. The draw took less than five minutes and I picked up a coffee at McD's on the way out of town. I like these first-thing appointments. Get it done, out of the way, and the rest of the day is left for jigsaw puzzles.
